I don’t always need a pet door. If I don’t want it up, what do I do with it?
One of the best features of Pop-Up Pet Door is that it easily folds up for storage. Pop up this temporary dog door only when you need it!
How heavy is it?
It weighs about two or three pounds.
How thick is it?
The Pop-Up Pet Door is 0.39" thick. It fits most screen and sliding door tracks.
What material is it made from?
The Pop-Up Pet Door is made from a lightweight plastic called coroplast. The flap is made from neoprene.
Can this be used as a security door?
No. It is not intended to be used as a security door.
I see you have to attach a piece of hook velcro to the inside of the frame. Will it affect my door?
Nope! You won't even really see it or notice it's there. Your door slides right over it.
If I open my door, will the Pop-Up Pet Door stay up?
Yes. It stays securely attached with a strip of Hook and Loop, so even when you open your door it stays up.
Is there a carrying bag included with the door?
As of right now, we DO NOT have any carrying bags available for the Pop-Up Pet Door.
I see in your installation instructions that it is recommended to use a security bar or sliding door lock and weather-seal. Why?
Because the bottom is frameless, it's a good idea to have something like a sliding a security bar or small spring rod on the backside of the sliding door to put pressure on the pet door to provide extra support. If you are using the 6" or 8” door, a security bar also helps to keep unwanted intruders out.
If you notice any gap between your Pop-Up Pet Door and door frame or sliding door, adding weather-seal can help to fill the gaps. This will help to keep out bugs and add additional stability. Your local Hardware store should have one that works well with it for about $5.
(The Pop-Up Pet Door is not intended to be used as a security pet door. It does not have a locking mechanism.)
WILL THE POP-UP PET DOOR FIT MY DOOR?
My door is less than 80” tall. It’s only 75” or I have a Window. Will it still work?
Yes. You can move the flap by up to two inches or trim off the bottom panel with a table saw very easily. You can also use it with a horizontal sliding window for a cat. Measure the height of your window and seperate the panels one at a time to make sure you have the correct length and attach the flap. (You can not reattach the panels after you have separated them).
What kind of doors does the Pop-Up Pet Door work with?
The Pop-Up Pet Door is a sliding door dog door, so it works with your glass sliding or sliding screen doors only. It does NOT work with swing-out doors, sliding glass doors that are installed backward, double sliding doors or french doors and some Pella Doors. WILL MY PET USE MY POP-UP PET DOOR?
I’ve been wanting to find a pet door that my cat will use. But they are nervous about using one.
By nature, cats don’t like things that startle them. Most flaps will slap them on the behind after they have gone through the doors. Because of the soft material we use on our flaps, this does not happen. Cats love it — and you can also remove the flap for training! While most people use the Pop-Up Pet Door for dogs, there are many who use it as a cat door.
My pet is afraid of pet doors. How do I get them to use it?
My dog was afraid of pet doors too. I made this one so that you can easily remove the flap to allow the pet to get used to it. Once they are used to going in and out, you can then re-attach the flap.

I received my new Pop-Up Pet Door but I ordered the wrong size. Now what?
If you let us know within our 30-day guarantee we will ask you to send it back to us and then have you reorder the correct size but will be assessed a 20% restocking fee.
My velcro doesn’t seem to be working anymore. What should I do?
If you put your pet door insert up and down several times a day, eventually the velcro loop will start to wear out. Velcro does start to lose its ability to attach after many uses. If you start to notice the velcro is not staying attached as it should you may need to replace the loop velcro. You can buy this here.

OTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE POP-UP PET DOOR
How do I measure to make sure I order the correct size for my door and pet? (Windows, Standard Height Sliding Door and 96" tall Sliding Doors).
The 80" tall Pop-Up Pet Door is made in China. The 96" Pet Doors are made in California and are considered special orders and Non-Refundable as they are made by hand in my workshop. Please measure the height of your sliding door frame and the depth of the groove that is in the frame of your door and the groove in the sliding door. Example: If you groove is 1/2" deep, than the width of pet opening on the 8" wide pet door will be 7 1/2" wide. You should also measure the height and width of your pet at the shoulders. How long will my order take to arrive?
Orders for standard 80" tall doors are shipped out within 1-2 business days and can take up to 6 business days to arrive anywhere within the USA. International orders can take up to 2-3 weeks depending on which country you live in due to Covid19. 96" Tall Pet Door that are made to order can take up to 10 days to ship. They usually don't take that long but depending on materials and sizes available.
For all other products, please allow 10-30 days for both U.S. and international orders.
